Family Restaurants: The general setting of a family pizzeria with robotic animal entertainers is heavily inspired by real chains like Chuck E. Cheese and ShowBiz Pizza Place.
True Crime Theories: Popular internet theories (such as viral videos by analysts like MatPat) often attempt to link the games to real-world tragedies. The most common comparison is the 1993 Chuck E. Cheese shooting in Aurora, Colorado, where a former employee killed four workers and injured a fifth. However, the creator did not base the game's narrative or characters on this or any specific criminal case.
Urban Legends: Fictional rumors—such as the "Bite of '87" or stories about animatronics moving on their own—are classic horror tropes rather than documented historical events.
